BaptismWe believe that baptism is the outward expression of an inward experience. It is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe in baptism by immersion because all New Testament baptisms were by immersion including Jesus Himself. Jesus’ baptism depicted a change in His life and ministry. Likewise, our baptism shows a change in our life from life without Christ to life with Christ. At our church it is a membership requirement to be baptized by immersion. We offer public and small group baptisms. We baptize at our morning worship services on Sunday mornings with the congregation present. We also offer baptisms at any other time that may be convenient for the candidate with just family and friends present. Acts 8: 35-38 Then Phillip began with the Scripture and told him the Good News about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water, and the man said, “Look, here is water! ?Why shouldn’t I be baptized right now?” Phillip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The man answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So they went down into the water and Phillip baptized. Like Phillip, when we do private baptisms we are simply saying, “Stop the Chariot.”
