Student Pastor  (full Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

Wynnbrook Baptist Church is seeking a Student Pastor who is passionate about helping the next generation know, love, and follow Jesus. This is an opportunity for a ministry builder—not simply someone to maintain an existing program, but a shepherd who will cast vision, build relationships, develop leaders, and create a thriving disciple-making culture for students and their families.

The next Student Pastor will join a healthy, unified staff that enjoys serving together and is committed to reaching the community. He will have the freedom to shape the future of student ministry while working closely with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to ensure students become an integrated part of the life of the church—not a ministry operating on the sidelines. The church is looking for someone who loves people as much as programs, values discipleship over attendance, and sees parents as ministry partners rather than spectators.

What You'll Do

   • Shepherd middle and high school students toward an authentic and growing relationship with Christ.

   • Develop a compelling vision for student ministry that aligns with the mission and values of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.

   • Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteer leaders who will disciple students through meaningful relationships.

   • Build strong partnerships with parents by communicating well and helping them become the primary disciplers of their children.

   • Create environments where students experience biblical teaching, authentic community, worship, service, and mission.

   • Be intentionally present in the community by developing relationships in local schools, attending student activities, and connecting with teenagers

where they already spend their time.

   • Help students discover how they fit into the larger mission of the church by encouraging intergenerational relationships and meaningful service

     opportunities.

   • Oversee ministry planning, budgeting, retreats, camps, mission opportunities, and other strategic initiatives that support long-term discipleship.

   • Provide leadership to ministries serving children, college students, and young adults while creating intentional pathways that help students continue

     growing long after graduation.

   • Serve as an active member of the pastoral team, embracing the opportunities to care for the entire church family and contribute wherever needed.

The Person We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is first and foremost a shepherd.

He genuinely enjoys being with students, earns trust naturally, and understands that lasting ministry is built through relationships. He is a leader who can cast vision, but he's equally comfortable sitting across the table from a student asking hard questions about faith.

He is a builder who sees opportunity where others see obstacles. Rather than inheriting a fully developed ministry, he will embrace the challenge of cultivating something that can grow for years to come. He takes initiative, communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, and develops teams rather than carrying ministry alone.

He will thrive at Wynnbrook because he enjoys collaboration, brings positive energy to the staff, and values being part of the entire church family. He is humble, coachable, hardworking, and willing to serve wherever needed. Most importantly, he measures success not simply by attendance but by transformed lives and growing disciples.

Qualifications

   • Demonstrate a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

   • Meet the biblical qualifications for a pastor found in Scripture.

   • Affirm the inerrancy of Scripture and align with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

   • Possess proven leadership, relational, and communication skills.

   • Have experience leading and developing volunteers and ministry teams.

   • Exhibit a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and developing future leaders.

   • Be a collaborative teammate who contributes to the health and mission of the entire church.

   • A college or seminary degree is preferred, though demonstrated ministry effectiveness and leadership experience will be highly valued.
